Evelyn

The story is about a father who is willing to do anything just to get his children back. Minister of Education had ruled that a child who had only a parent should be sent to churh. The father had made alot of application to the minister to get his children back but it always rejected, therefore with a help from a barrister (without fees) from America, they appealed to High court but justice was not on their side. Later, they went to Supreme court to get justice. 2 out of 3 judges were in flavoured of the father and therefore as a result of it, all children in ireland were free to go back to their homes.

Supreme court situation and judgements
Irish constitution: Art 1, Irish constitution shall be consisted with the law of God
Art 41 Parent and child is fundamental God given rights to enjoyment mutual society
Art 42 A blameless parent shall bot be deprived of his/her rights to direct the child education
The Minister by denying the father application , is said to have denied the Irish constitution (argument from the appelant)
the Holy family consists of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. The argument from respondents 'how can you as a single parent and as a catholic raised the children?
the father-' Holy trinity -father, son and Holy Spirit- love, faith and hope
Evelyn's prayer- Lord God, the guide the universe with love, here the prayer we make for the country, the beauty country of Ireland, thou...... truth and justice may flourish
Lord's Judgement: children act 1941 s 10 contravene fundamental parent right
- "we are officer of the law and must not govern by sentiment'
'determine case with head not heart'
'no precedent'
R v Clarke- parent has inalienable right to child however it was decided under common law and common law is overwritten by statute
Irish constitution is a written constitution and because of Evelyn prayer, trust and justice may flourish.
It is a very touching movie and a lot of things that we can learn from this movie
